If you were to log into coke.co.za or cokezerofest.co.za right now you’d rightly presume that anything other than the football or avatar isn’t going to get any marketing budget in this the year South Africa plays host to the World Cup in 2010. So it ought to come as no surprise to you music fans that we’ve been bumped off of the priority list and have been relegated, sent to the bench, given the red card – you know the deal – I digress – the Coke Zero fest has been cancelled.
Dionne Domyan from Penny Stein Promotions confirmed the news in a scoop on Entertainment Africa.
“The sad news is that there is no Coke Zero Fest this year as Coca-Cola are one of the major sponsors of the Fifa World Cup so all their energy (and resources) have been channeled to this event.”

Bring it on Pepsi. Why not? Music be more important than life. I’ll switch, how about you?
Perfect time for the V Festival!
