Wa Africa Arrest: Police Bully – 1, Media Bully 0

Wa Africa’s arrest today has shocked many and justifiably so: where do the police get off arresting him at a conference for journalists where journalistic freedom was the topic of concern and making a show of arresting him? Did he do something fraudulent? That is irrelevant – if a husband is in default of maintenance [...]
Onomatopoeia of a Stirring

The last few months have been a sterling example of human nature: we’ve managed to kill in one go the largest piece of coastline ever. World economies crashed and while fat cats are still getting their fat paychecks, thousands have had their lives irrevocably changed for the worse. The G8 s meeting again soon and [...]
There go those Muslims, overreacting again

The Muslim community has grasped a fundamental connection between Zapiro’s cartoon and then attacked in their call for a noisemaking. Yes! You have every right to. But don’t you dare use this cartoon analogy to attack other religious faiths. That is wrong. It definitely feels like a time for change in thinking from the Muslim community before you chain mail a war on email.

We’ve just been sent images of the lightning display over Iceland’s Eyjafjallajoekull volcano which continues to erupt, looks like the gods of old having a roaring time. Thank you to Ms Wilreker for forwarding these. For more see Boston.com’s full post on the lightning over Iceland’s Eyjafjallajoekull volcano. Our condolences to the thousands stranded at [...]
Malema might be right: Is the Media a tool for the forces of Evil?
Posted on 16. Apr, 2010 by Talita in Blog, Current Affairs
I never thought that I’d find a single point to agree on with The Troll but the evidence is damning: The Media and CNN in particular must be agents of evil hell bent on sabotaging the 2010 World Cup in a clear effort to undermine South Africa! We know that the international media has been [...]
How African are you?
Posted on 13. Apr, 2010 by aasia in Blog, Current Affairs, Politics, featured
what makes you a genuine bonifide South African. Surely it isn’t the colour of our skin or our political association? The optimists will have you believe that we are all one nation, a muticoloured, multicultural society that lives together with those who don’t agree with us, but shucks, we won’t kill them either.
Equality Court takes aim at Malema

Yesterday was not a good day for my patriometor; thoughts like “We’re the next Zimbabwe” circled around my paranoid scull like road vultures at the Atterbury explosion. Firstly, there was the announcement by the local mafia a.k.a. the ANC that all productive agricultural land may become a state asset. Read: we are the next Zim [...]
The Truth Behind Chappies Bubblegum
Posted on 04. Jan, 2010 by Thorin in Current Affairs
Every Chappies bubblegum that will ever be produced until 2020 has already been made. Production ended in 1990. This is a bold and dangerous statement. But the truth seeks out its own path to expression. I was at first a reluctant vessel, but the Sirens’ call of the truth eventually overpowered my better and more [...]

In the wake of convictions on criminal charges such as murder and assualt, King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo of the abaThembu has carefully considered his options and, rather creatively, has come up with a brilliant solution to his pending incarceration: annex South Africa! King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo gave formal notice to the Presidency, parliament and the NPA that [...]
Memories of an Era

It was a normal night somewhere in 1999/2000. Like many, I had come to Joburg in search of dreams and a taste of the big city’s bright lights. I had been invited to a party in Morningside by a young lady I was interested in getting to know better – I was single and allowed. [...]
