After a bit of rain yesterday, although it did not dampen the spirits, and the Friday marking the official start of the summer holiday season in South Africa, the Comes with Music party bus has arrived in Amanzimtoti for the weekend. Two more of South Africa’s hottest music talent will be performing this weekend – Straatligkinder and Mix n Blend
Judging from the amazing reaction and the large fan base that they have, it is obvious that Straatligkinders are a band that are playing in the right key. It would seem that they are exactly what the South African music industry has been longing for and the people just can’t get enough. They are a band that epitomise the saying “local is lekker”… well, on second thoughts, maybe a mere “lekker” (nice) is not quite enough to describe their amazing music and they are a band that would definitely hold their own on an international level too!
Mix n Blend are 3 individuals who like to play with sound in all its forms, all the time, whether it be designing sonics for TV and radio or composing new material to play out live at various festivals around the country. “We started playing music to people about seven years ago when we found out that we could make them do silly, entertaining and fascinating things with their bodies by bombarding them with sound”. Mix n Blend will kick off proceedings at the bus at 11:00 and Straatligkinders will be on stage at 15:00 – don’t miss out on the action!
